For the past 126 years, Gibson has been synonymous with creating and shaping sound. The new Gibson era celebrates the iconic models of the Gibson Golden Era while leaning into the future with instruments that nurture new players across all generations, genders, and genres of music. Gibson’s annual event, “Gibson Live At The Grove: Featuring Music Legends New Icons,” kicked off an all-star concert featuring performances from some of the most influential and respected musicians in rock this week during Winter NAMM (January 16).
An array of music and entertainment industry talent attended the week’s hottest nighttime concert. Actor/comedian John Stamos and Gibson President and CEO James “JC” Curleigh kicked-off the night and a bevy of music legends took over the stage, including none other than Slash and his friends Don Felder (Eagles), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Rick Nielsen(Cheap Trick), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Richie Faulkner (Judas Priest), Elliot Easton, Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Tash Neal, Andy Vargas (Santana vocals), Sugarmill Slim, Burton Bell (Fear Factory), Celisse, Chuck Garic (Alice Cooper), Jared James Nichols, Toby Lee, Marc Labelle (Dirty Honey), newcomer Ally Venable and more. Meanwhile, the “house band” throughout the night was comprised of Jimmy Vivino (guitar), Kenny Aronoff (drums), Darryl Jones (bass), Jeff Young (keyboards) and featuring guest Mark Flanigan on keyboards (ZZ Top). The newly launched Gibson Generation Group (G3), class of 2021 players opened the show with Gibson artist Emily Wolfe on guitar and vocals.
The night was highlighted by a stellar line-up of live performances from some of the most exciting and respected artists in rock with Slash and his friends alone offering up eight classic songs to round-out the evening.
