Bad Wolves’ N.A.T.I.O.N.

Bad Wolves' N.A.T.I.O.N.

Bad Wolves is releasing their second album on October 25, 2019, through Eleven Seven Music, and I couldn’t be more excited. Pre-orders are available on the band’s official website and platforms such as iTunes, and Amazon Music. Their first three singles from the album have been released and are available for download. So, go give them a listen now.

The band consists of vocalist Tommy Vext (ex-Divine Heresy), founding member and drummer John Boecklin (ex-DevilDriver), guitarist Doc Coyle (Vagus Nerve, ex-God Forbid), guitarist Chris Cain (Bury Your Dead), and bassist Kyle Konkiel (ex-In This Moment). They found themselves in the spotlight with the remake and release of “Zombie”, as a tribute to the late Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries. Hits like “Zombie” which hit platinum in the United States, and “Here Me Now” featuring Diamante helped skyrocket the band into the limelight, and easily made them one of the top artists of 2018.

The new album is amazing. I tried to find something I didn’t like about it and I couldn’t. Tommy has one of the most melodic voices in rock today and he uses it to his advantage. This album gets a little heavier than what people might expect from Bad Wolves. But it shows the band’s range and potential to cross different genres and I can’t get enough. Most albums take me a few listens to get into the songs. But, song after song on N.A.T.I.O.N had me either banging my head or getting lost in the harmonic vocals.

One of my favorites on this album is “Sober”. It is really beautiful. The vocals and instrumentals combine to create a timeless song that I feel will be a favorite of mine, and many, for years to come. It is on the lighter side, and it is also a nice addition to the album which has just the right amount of light and heavy.

“Heaven So Heartless” is another song on the album that quickly became a favorite as well. Rhythmic and powerful, this song stayed in my head all day. “I’ll Be There” is one of the first singles from the album, and it is obvious why. This song kicks some serious butt. This song is one of the harder songs on the album, as well as the opener, and it definitely leads the way and gets you pumped for the rest of what is to come. Tommy presents us with his Metal side in the song “Foe Or Friend’. More screaming and less singing in this banger. It will have you pumped up for sure. Bad Wolves have a very strong and energetic stage presence. This album is a great representation of that energy and strength.

 I give this album a 10 out 10.
