ZZ Top At Celebrate Virginia After Hours 9/15/2016

Legendary rockers ZZ Top played Celebrate Virginia After Hours on Thursday night, bringing Gov’t Mule along as the opening act. Gates opened early and fans began pouring in to get a good spot to catch a night of some great music. Gov’t Mule took the stage at 7 for a ten song set of southern rock that had the fans up and out of their seats for the entire set. Warren Haynes and company kicked things off with “Mr. Man” from the 2004 release, Deja Voodoo, the set also included “Banks of the Deep End”, as well as “Monkey Hill” and “Rocking Horse” which are on the bands latest release The Tel Star Sessions which was released on August 5th and can be purchased HERE.

The Rock and Roll hall of Fame trio took the stage shortly after 8pm playing to a capacity crowd. With fifteen studio albums spanning a forty-three year career putting together a setlist can be quite the challenge. The guys put together a solid seventeen song set that included fan favorites, “Gimme All Your Lovin”, “Cheap Sunglasses”, “Sharp Dressed Man”, and “Legs”.  The set also included several covers, including Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady”, and wrapped up with “Tush”. The band just released their latest album “Live-Greatest Hits From Around The World” on September 9th giving fans the chance to take the live experience home with them.
