Touring in support of his latest release “Book of Shadows II”, Zakk Wylde made a stop at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live on Tuesday night. It’s been twenty years since the release of Zakk’s first solo album “Book of Shadows”, and fans Tuesday night were treated to a fifteen song setlist of material from the two albums. Zakk and company took the stage roughly around ten o’clock, kicking things off with an extended version of “Sold My Soul”, and fans were immediately reminded of Zakks ability to shred a guitar. Zakk, playing his new Wylde Audio guitars played guitar solo after guitar solo during the opening song, giving fans on the left, right, and center stage a clear view of his abilities. The biggest highlight of the night was Zakks ten minute solo leading into “Throwing It All Away” where he climbed down from the stage playing in the middle of the crowd. Zakk closed out the night with his current single “Sleeping Dogs” which is getting a lot of radio play and features Slipknot’s Corey Taylor. The current tour is classic Zakk at his best. Zakk with his backing band from Black Label Society, shows fans why he is considered one of the best guitar players of our time with extended solos thru out the set.
