It had been nearly two years since Volbeat last played Baltimore, as fans filled the Pier Six Pavilion on Tuesday night for the bands latest tour. The tour which kicked off on August 8th in Brooklyn, NY will continue thru September when it wraps up in Nashville, TN. Getting things started for the evening were Vancouver’s Black Wizard, the band released their album “New Waste” back in February of this year. Their set was short but got the crowd warmed up for what was to come for the rest of the night. Taking the stage next was Killswitch Engage, who are currently touring in support of their latest release “Incarnate” which was released in March and peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard Charts. Closing out the night was the band everyone had come out to see, Volbeat. The band released “Seal The Deal And Lets boogie” back in June, and saw the album hit the #4 spot on the U.S. Billboard Charts. The tour also sees new bassist, Kaspar Larsen who has stepped in after the departure of longtime bassist, Anders Kjolholm. The setlist could have easily played out as the bands next greatest hits album with a few songs from the new album sprinkled in. The sixteen song set kicked off with the first single “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown”, released from the latest album and closed out with the crowd favorite “Still Counting” from the bands third studio album, “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood”. Other songs from the new album that have been included in the current setlist included, “Let It Burn”, “Black Rose”, “The Gates of Babylon”, “Goodbye Forever”, and “Seal the Deal”. Fans remained on their feet throughout the set singing along with every song for what has been one of the better shows to come to Baltimore’s inner harbor during this concert season. The current tour will continue thru September with the band making appearances with Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold. Look for the band to also make several festival appearances this fall before heading over to Europe to close out the year. Volbeat will appear at, High Elevation, Revolution Rock, and Rock Allegiance, festivals. The setlist, remaining tour dates, and pictures from the show can be found below.
