Slope Records recording artist, The U.S. Bombs rock an enthusiastic Louisville punk crowd with support from the godawfuls, Tronald Dump, The Prodepressants, and The Jereactors.

The U.S. Bombs aka “The Bombs” as they are known to their legion of fans have been a significant part of American punk rock history since they burst onto the punk scene in 1993.  2018 marks The Bombs 25th anniversary and while their line-up has changed over time, vocalist Duane Peters shows no signs of letting up. They are currently on tour in support of two new releases, one a  Clash tribute EP, the other an EP of brand new songs released on December 29th.  Originally founded by Duane Peters and Kerry Martinez, the band struck a chord with the Los Angeles based punk scene with their unique rock blend and their new songs “Hollywood Gong Show” and “Midnight Run” are a natural progression.

An enthusiastic crowd of Louisville punk rockers flocked to Trixie’s Entertainment Complex for their chance to catch The Bombs live. Rolling through a set with their usual classic flair, The U.S. Bombs covered songs from their vast catalog starting with covers of The Clash’s “Straight to Hell” and “Death or Glory”. What the crowd lacked in size, they definitely made up for in energy. There was moshing and thrashing in the pit from the opening chords of the show mixed in with numerous stage dives and fans sharing the microphone with Duane several times during the set. For fans of punk, Trixie’s was the place to be.

Several outstanding Louisville punk bands got the crowd going and ready for The Bombs. Providing the main support were the rowdy godawfuls.  The trio, fronted by Stitch Awful on Vocals and guitar along with Kalan Awful on bass and Brad Awful on drums were on a high energy blast from the time the lights dropped, delivering a raw set of original punk that was simply infectious.

Tronald Dump, a satirical political punk band from Lexington, Kentucky keep the energy on high with an entertaining set of original music.  Having a great time on stage while engaging those in the crowd, Tronald Dump’s set helped set the tone for the rest of the night.

A funk punk, party rock blend set by The Prodepressants, while a little out of the ordinary, ended up being a great fit for the evening.  Lively guitar and numerous fun and easygoing stage antics by lead vocalist/guitarist Steven added to the vibe in the room, drawing plenty of hoots and hollers from those in the crowd.

The Jereactors started the evening with a bang with a raucous set including “Mucha Policia” before ending with “Street Fight” and the Beastie Boys cover of “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)”
