Mercury Insurance (NYSE: MCY) and rock legend Sammy Hagar have teamed up to give his fans the chance to win the ultimate music festival getaway – a three-day Birthday Bash celebration at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The online sweepstakes will reward two entrants with a VIP trip for two to the Bash, courtesy of Mercury Insurance.
The sweepstakes is part of Mercury’s sponsorship of AXS TV’s “Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar Presented by Mercury Insurance,” which features Hagar giving viewers behind-the-scenes access to music stars and legends, like John Mayer, Melissa Etheridge, Toby Keith, Vince Neil, Mick Fleetwood, Joe Satriani, Adam Levine and more.
“It’s really cool that Mercury Insurance has upped the ante for my birthday bash this year and is giving two fans a bucket list experience,” said Sammy Hagar. “This year is going to be the biggest, baddest birthday bash yet and you could see quite a few of my friends joining me on stage.”
The sweepstakes runs from July 2, 2017 to August 31, 2017. Fans can enter by visiting www.mercuryinsurance.com/axs and completing the registration form during the promotional period. Winners will be drawn on or about September 13.
Two entrants will be chosen to win a trip for two that includes:
· Roundtrip airfare to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico;
· Hotel accommodations for three (3) nights (double occupancy);
· Roundtrip transportation from the airport to the hotel;
· Two (2) VIP tickets to the show;
· A meet-and-greet with the Red Rocker; and
· Roundtrip transportation from the hotel to the show.
“Sammy’s birthday party in Cabo is legendary, and this year he’s kicking it up a notch with a three-day festival at the Cabo Wabo Cantina,” said Erik Thompson, Mercury’s advertising director. “This is one of the hottest tickets in music, so I’m very excited that Mercury Insurance is able to send not one, but two winners, to this epic event.”
Past year’s Birthday Bashes have included all-star performances from Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith and many more music legends. Fans were treated to a rendition of the Beatles “Helter Skelter” featuring Hagar, Cantrell, Jason Bonham, Michael Anthony and Vic Johnson in 2016, and a performance of the Van Halen song, “Mine All Mine,” a song that he hasn’t played to a live audience since 1995. Guest performers for the 2017 Birthday Bash have not yet been announced.
One person who will be there is last year’s Mercury winner – Jake Britt. “This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life,” said Britt. “I’m a huge fan and meeting Sammy Hagar was at the top of my bucket list. Mercury and AXS TV treated my wife and me like royalty and we had such an awesome time that we booked a trip on our own to be there for this year’s birthday bash.”
