Svartanatt’s Starry Eagle Eye

Written By: Zaneta Padilla

Svartanatt's Starry Eagle Eye Originating in Stockholm, Svartanatt is a lively 5-man band with two guitars, bass, drums and an organ. This lineup gives them a sound of classic rock hailing from the 60’s and 70’s. Even their album art looks like it came from that classic generation with a vibrant and beautifully illustrated eagle and psychedelic letters.

Starry Eagle Eye is set to release March 2, 2018. The 9 tracks in this album blend harmoniously with the evident influences of the pioneers of rock in their sound. With hints of Skynyrd, Top and Zeppelin, this album is great for old and young rock fans.

“Children of Revival” starts the album off strong with an easy beat and their hook “straight out, straight out…we are the children of revival.” With the mention of soaring high as eagles, it ties in the title of the album well. The guitar bridge is bound to make any listener pull out their air guitar and join in.

“Wrong Side of Town” is a blood-pumping song with its heavy drums and strong guitar in the intro. Paring perfectly with the title, the gravelly vocals give the feeling of being on the wrong side of town with this song for rebels.

“Wolf Blues” is a rock ballad that balances between dreamy instrumentals and a gritty sound during the verses. With the repeated lyric of “dream on,” it gives a dreamy feel in the arpeggios. It ends in an awesome guitar shred, giving you every kind of sense in one song. It’s a good transition between the faster-paced “Hit Him Down” next on the album.

This album is a great album with fresh songs that give you a sense of nostalgia with a classic sound. If you’re a fan of any band in the Woodstock era, you’d appreciate this album. Stay up-to-date on the band and their music at startanatt.com
