“This is a straight up punk rock album that holds
nothing back.” (8/10) – idobi Radio

It’s a record with soul and purpose, embodying the very
essence of punk. The record sounds like a life is at stake, and
according to Whibley, one was. Now that’s punk rock.” Myspace
Sum 41 has officially released their new album 13 Voices today! Fans can purchase the album now in stores at Target, on iTunes or streaming on Spotify. The 10-track album was recorded, produced and engineered by singer Deryck Whibley at his home in Los Angeles and marks the band’s first LP in five years, following up 2011’s Screaming Bloody Murder, which featured the Grammy Nominated song “Blood In My Eyes.”
Whibley began writing for 13 Voices immediately following his four-month stint in the hospital. The frontman recalls, “I had to learn how to do everything again-my motor skills, learning how to play guitar again… I couldn’t even walk at the time. It was really difficult, but at the same time if I didn’t have a record to make, I don’t think I would have recovered as quickly, or even at all. Writing music gave me a purpose. I had to get better.”

Target has an exclusive version of 13 Voices, which includes 4 extra songs. Fans can win prizes including a one-of-a-kind pair of Sum 41 wireless headphones from V-MODA and a signed test pressing of the new album. To enter, purchase an album from the store and post a picture of their 13 Voices CD with the receipt and tag #13VoicesTarget on Twitter or Instagram. (Both digital and in-store purchases valid.)

On recently released single and music video, “War,” Deryck Whibley states, “I feel that this song literally saved my life. I was at my absolute lowest point of what seemed like a never-ending recovery. When I was at a tipping point of falling back into drinking or staying the course of recovery, I grabbed a pencil and paper instead of a bottle and started writing. Whenever I had any thoughts of giving up, I would read these lyrics to myself over and over again. They helped remind me of what it was that I was fighting for, and that I needed to keep fighting harder. Giving up was not an option.” “War” has been added and spins at CIMX, Faction, idobi, Alt Nation, KROQ, KFMA, KFRR, KITS, and more! The new video also has over 2 million views.
