The Spring Fling Rock AF Tour featuring Cage The Elephant, Silversun Pickups, Foals, and Bear Hands made a stop at the Richmond Coliseum on March 22, 2016.
Getting things started for the night was Bear Hands, who are set to release their album “You’ll Pay For This” on April 15th.

Foals was up next, this was only their second time playing in Richmond, VA, the last time being when they came thru town with Cage The Elephant last year. Foals latest release, “What Went Down” was released in August of 2015. The bands single “Mountain at My Gates” has been getting plenty of radio play and was a crowd favorite when played. Look for Foals to continue to be a fan favorite and to be headlining shows of their own in the near future.

Silversun Pickups was a crowd favorite, they played a pretty solid set that included their radio hits “Nightlight”, “Panic Switch”, “The Pit”, and “Lazy Eye”. This night proved to be a special night as vocalists Brian Aubert’s wife and nine month old son had flown out earlier in the day to be there for the show, for what Brian described as his sons first concert.

Closing out the night was Grammy-nominated Cage The Elephant. The last time Cage the Elephant played Richmond, VA it was to a sold out show at The National, this night saw the band in a much larger venue playing in front of a much larger crowd. Cage The Elephant are currently out on tour in support of their latest release “Tell Me I’m Pretty”, which has received high reviews from critics and debuted at number three on both Billboard‘s Top Rock and Alternative Albums charts. The album, Cage’s fourth, also enters the Billboard 200 at number 26. “Tell Me I’m Pretty“ was produced by The Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach. It is Cage the Elephant’s follow-up to their Grammy-nominated album, “Melophobia“. The band played an energy packed 90 minute set that kept the crowd moving thru out the 18 song set. Cage The Elephant is a must see live band, it really is the only way to experience the true energy of Matt Shultz and company. The band is set to be out on tour thru July this year.
