Saycille’s First Single ‘Wish’

Saycille’s First Single ‘Wish’

Saycille is a singer/songwriter that was born in a small town near Amsterdam in 1964. She doesn’t have a background in music, her story isn’t about a family full of musicians, and she wasn’t in a band in high school. Like many “normal” people, Saycille worked various jobs throughout her life, landing a career in home healthcare at some point. At the age of 52, she lost her job and decided to start volunteering her time with a program that helped people be self-supportive. As someone with a lot of compassion for others, Saycille soon started a weekly meeting to help people that didn’t want to be alone. Her love and compassion for others would be one driving force in her new dream to make music.

At the place she volunteered, she joined an amateur band as a singer and discovered a new passion. She decided she wanted to write a song. Using a YouTube video she even learned to play the piano. In December 2016 she started writing her first songs. Her first single, “Wish”, is now out, and it will be followed by an EP within the next month or so, and then a full-length album, “Heartbeat”, is scheduled for release in February 2018.

The video for “Wish” is a simple romp through what you might imagine Saycille’s day would look like. It’s a simple video, but it shows so much love, compassion, and camaraderie. The vocals of the song are reminiscent of Paula Cole and Edie Brickell, with some Colby Caillat mixed in.

This is an excellent first song for a new artist. She’s following her passion. That makes this worth listening to.
