Revolver, North America’s leading hard rock and metal outlet, release a new episode of “The Art of Work,” a behind-the-scenes look at Maynard James Keenan’s (Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer) multi-faceted life in Northern Arizona (https://www.revolvermag.com/premium-video/culture/maynard-james-keenan-bjj). The clip, the final in a four-part series, focuses on Keenan’s enduring interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu as it relates to his larger vision of sustainable living and creativity. Revolver has also added three new series to its collection of documentary shorts: * Game Changers – An ongoing series that profiles individuals, bands, albums, songs and innovations that broke new ground and raised the bar in their respective fields. Episode 1 digs deep into the Deftones’ watershed sophomore album, Around The Fur, which turned 20 this year. * Hometown – In this new series, artists take the viewer back to the places where they grew up and got their start. The inaugural episode follows Grammy-nominated group August Burns Red, “a metal band from Amish country,” who show us the family farm egg room where they wrote their first album and the Lancaster, Pa. venues where they cut their teeth. * My Battle Jacket – A look at the iconic patch-covered metal vest, its origins, inspiration and meaning. The debut piece finds Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly, Nailbomb and Cavalera Conspiracy) showing us his two oldest battle jackets and revealing how he made fake belts out of AA batteries as a kid growing up in Brazil. |
