Ace Frehley’s Spaceman

Ace Frehley's Spaceman

Founding KISS member, Ace Frehley is releasing a new solo album, Spaceman. In this album, it’s back to basics with nods to that classic KISS sound we all love. The album title itself is a nod to his star studded persona, “Spaceman.”

In this new album, Space Ace takes his legendary guitar playing and plays both guitar and bass for all tracks, except “Your Wish is my Command” and “Without You I am Nothing” where fellow rock legend Gene Simmons accompanied him on bass.

“Beth” is one of my favorite KISS songs. On Spaceman, “Rockin With the Boys” is a more energetic counterpart. “No need to worry. I’ll be home soon, cause I’m rocking with the boys” gives an unapologetic and more reassuring side of the tale of being on the road.

“Pursuit of Rock and Roll” is one of my favorite tracks. It sings of life, liberty, and he pursuit of rock and roll, which quite frankly, is what the American Dream is. Ace pays tribute to his rock and roll idols in the song with Beetles lyrics and mentions of the Stones and Little Richard.

Ace covers Eddie Money’s “I Wanna Go Back.” It’s a great homage to the 80’s hit and Ace’s classic rock sound, but without the jazzy synth sound the 80’s had. With him choosing to cover this particular song saying it describes him, when listening to it, I can’t help but wonder what it is he wants to go back to with his knowledge of today.

Spaceman is a great album to add to your classic rock collection, and the release date should be very anticipated. For tour dates and album news, follow him on Facebook. www.facebook.com/AceFrehley
