Last week we chatted with Reed Mullin of Corrosion of Conformity, surrounding the speculation of a new album for the guys, which has been confirmed they will start recording later on this year. “We plan on going in to the studio after we finish our tour with Lamb of God and Clutch.” Previously headlining a tour this past winter/spring, and currently having the opportunity to tour more with Lamb of God & Clutch they have nothing but praise, admiration, and excitement to be working with such talented musicians. Continuing down the line talking about touring he told us about his #1 fan, his dad, who comes to almost every show.  “It’ great to be able to do what you and to continue to do what you love, at any age.”  Now being signed with Nuclear Blast USA and having Pepper back in the band, this new album is bound to one for the books. Reed also explained how it’s like no time has past between members, chatting on about celebrating Pepper’s birthday, and band rehearsals. When touching base on how touring is, we dove in to what differences there has been over years from when they first started to present day. “When we first started,  the punk rock scene in the olden days were Black Flag and Dead Kennedys, they made enough to pay rent. The expectation to make money was not there, we traveled played a bunch shows and try to sell a bunch shirts, that’s how we paid for gas.” Diving further in to things we started talking about the digital age and his opinions on streaming music, and how it is effecting the artists.“There has to be some big changes from physical product to digital media. It has been an argument since the 90’s. Even Metallica had the issues with Napster free streaming their music and it still goes on to this day.” So if you have a chance to catch them this summer check out the tour with Lamb of God, and Clutch, it has the COC seal of approval.
