The Pretty Reckless At Rams Head Live 11/18/2016

After having to cancel their summer appearance with Halestorm due to the riots, The Pretty Reckless returned to Baltimore to play a sold out show at Rams Head Live on Friday night. Touring in support of their latest release Who You Selling For, the band kicked off a 32 date tour that will wrap on December 6th in Los Angeles, CA before the band heads to Europe for a two month run to start 2017. The band’s latest single “Take Me Down” hit #1 on the rock charts, which marked the fourth consecutive #1 single for the group. 

Them Evils got things started for the night. A three-piece outfit hailing from Orange County, CA, the band has a classic rock-n-roll era sound with their Led Zeppelin and AC/DC influences easily detectable in their music. The band’s setlist consisted mostly of material from their latest EP Them Evils with a couple of songs from Cold Black Love mixed in. Highlights of the nights set and crowd favorites had to be the covers of AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)” and Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” which they closed out their set with.  Look for Them Evils to continue to make waves going into 2017, and don’t be surprised if you see them on the stage of The World’s Loudest Month Festivals this spring. Next up for the evening were Holy White Hounds, who released their album Sparkle Sparkle back in May. The album which has received a lot of praise from the press, has produced the singles “Switchblade” and “Blind” both of which were included in the nights eight song setlist. The band’s music has often been compared to that of The Strokes and Queens of the Stone Age, and has garnered a lot of radio play for the Des Moines quartet. The guys did throw a surprise into their set for the night playing a cover of The Brave Youth’s “Cheap Desire”. Holy White Hounds will continue the current tour with The Pretty Reckless thru December 6th, but plan to announce more dates on their website in the near future. 1500 fans were on their feet when The Pretty Reckless took to the stage, kicking off their thirteen song set with “Follow Me Down” from their 2014 release Going to Hell. Having to have canceled a show earlier in the week due to illness there were no signs of Taylor Momsen feeling under the weather as she tore thru hit after hit on Friday night. The nights setlist could have easily played out as a greatest hits album as it spanned all three of the bands releases leaving no fan disappointed. The band wrapped up their set with “Fucked Up World” which included a drum solo by Jamie Perkins before Taylor Momsen, Ben Phillips, and Mark Damon rejoined him to finish out the song and set for the night.
