Phil Lomac's Northern Cities Southern Stars
Phil Lomac is a DIY musician, a concept that is becoming more and more popular these days. He plays all of the instruments on this new album and he produced the entire thing himself as well. Some of the instruments you’ll hear are bass, guitars, banjo, keyboards, and percussion. Lomac currently calls Charlotte, North Carolina home.

“Northern Lights,” the first song on this seven-song collection, is an excellent introduction to the bluesy folk art rock that Lomac is making. The music has an alternative pop-vibe, but it mostly feels like Indie/Folk Rock. Fans of Tom Petty, Elliot Smith, and even Wilco will find some joy in this music.

“World Of Pain” is a deep song that has a slower beat. It’s a darker song, but it has a great story within. It also, strangely, ends abruptly. It is followed by “Read The Message,” which will catch your ear when Lomac’s voice suddenly seems more powerful. This is a true singer/songwriter song. The focus is on the vocals, the lyrics.

There are a few more great songs on this album worth listening to. You can listen to and purchase the complete album on Bandcamp, https://phillomac.bandcamp.com/
