Having just played to over twenty-five thousand fans this past Sunday at Louder Than Life, Parkway Drive brought their Unbreakable North American Tour to The Fillmore Silver Spring on Tuesday night. Doors opened at 6pm, and the show got started at 7pm with Washington D.C.’s Gloom kicking things off. The tour also features Canada’s Counterparts and Detroit’s We Came As Romans as part of the touring package. Parkway Drive doesn’t get to tour the U.S. often but with the release of IRE in September of 2015 the guys have toured heavily to the delight of their U.S. fans. Parkway Drive headlined a string of sold out fall shows, followed by a spring tour, numerous festival appearances, a tour with A Day To Remember, and now another fall headlining tour which will wrap up at the end of October. All in all I would say 2016 has been a successful year for the guys with IRE reaching the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums, and has produced five singles that have gotten plenty of air play. Unlike the weekends shortened festival setlist, fans Tuesday were treated to a fourteen song setlist that started with “Crushed” and ended with “Bottom Feeder”, both singles off their new album. The crowd of just over one thousand wasted not time getting into things forming mosh pits and crowd surfing all to the delight of Winston McCall who encouraged the crowd to continue. Having seen Parkway drive numerous times this year at both festivals, as well as smaller venues there is no doubt that they are a must see band, whether it’s in front of 20 thousand fans or 1000 fans, Winston McCall and the guys deliver the same energy and performance and leave it all on the stage at the end of the night.
