Parkway Drive Plays The Fillmore Silver Spring, MD 11/21/2015

Parkway Drive is currently out touring in support of their latest release “IRE” which was released in September, and hit #1 on the U.S. Top Hard Rock Albums. The current North American leg of the tour has support from In Hearts Wake, Thy Art Is Murder, and Miss May I. The tour made a stop at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD on November 21st. Despite recent events in the news and the threat of possible attacks against the DC area, over 1600 fans came out to show they wouldn’t be intimated and to witness one of the best tours currently touring the U.S.

First up was Australia’s In Hearts Wake, who despite having been together since 2006 was making their first appearance at the venue. The crowd bounced, moshed, crowd surfed, and responded to the band as if they were a hometown favorite.

Next up was another Australian band, Blacktown’s very own Thy Art Is Murder. The band was no stranger to the crowd and as the band took the stage the energy in the crowd began to grow. The moshing and crowd surfing intensified bringing more security to the barricade to handle all the crowd surfers coming to the front of the stage. The band is currently out in support of their latest release “Holy War” which was released in September on Nuclear Blast records. The setlist for the night was:

“Absolute Genocide”

“Coffin Dragger”

“Shadow of Eternal Sin”

“The Purest of Hate”

“Reign of Darkness”

“Light Bearer”

“Holy War”

The halfway point of the night brought Ohio’s Miss May I to the stage. Having released “Deathless” in August the crowd was eager to get a chance to hear new material from the band. Levi Benton and crew brought energy to the stage that the crowd continued to feed off of thru their set which consisted of four new songs out of their eight song set. The complete setlist was:

“I.H.E.”

“Relentless Chaos”

“Bastards Left Behind”

“Our Kings”

“Deathless”

“Masses of a Dying Breed”

“Turn Back the Time”

“Hey Mister”

Closing out the night was the band everyone had come to see, Australia’s Parkway Drive. The balcony was full, and the floor packed when Winston McCall, Luke Kilpatrick, Jeff Ling, Ben Gordon, and Jia O’Connor took the stage by storm. Playing a thirteen song set that could easily be the band’s first greatest hits album, Parkway Drive played for roughly one hour and twenty minutes. At this point the energy in the building was thru the roof even surprising Winston who paused between songs to tell the crowd how they were the craziest crowd so far on the tour and encouraging them to keep it coming. Parkway Drive left it all on the stage on this night and proved why this is a must see tour to close out the 2015 concert year. Hopefully the fans will see Parkway Drive tour the U.S. again during 2016. The setlist for the night and remaining tour dates are listed below.
