The Mockstrosity Tour 2017 Makes Stop At The Broadberry

The Mockstrosity Tour featuring Mac Sabbath, Metalachi and Okilly Dokilly played Richmond’s The Broadberry on Thursday night.

Hailing as the world’s only “Nedal” band, Okilly Dokilly kicked things off for the night. Dressed as the character Ned Flanders from The Simpsons, Okilly Dokilly brought an energy filled performance that’s a mix of metal, comedy, and of course plenty of Ned Flanders quotes. The band released their debut album Howdilly Doodilly back in November which can be purchased HERE. Highlights of the set were, “Vegetables,” “White Wine Sprtzer.” “You’re A Jerk,” and “Nothing At All”. The full setlist can be seen below.

What do you get when you cross mariachi with heavy metal… you get Metalachi, the World’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band.  Metalachi had the crowd on their feet and singing along to songs like, “Ace of Spades,” Holy Diver,” and “Rock and Roll All Night”. The highlight of the set was the band’s Metallica medley of “Master of Puppets,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Enter Sandman.”  For all that is Metalachi go HERE.

Closing out the night were Mac Sabbath, a band that mixes lyrics of fast food over classic Black Sabbath songs, all while dressed as characters resembling Ronald McDonald and the rest of the McDonalds characters. The self proclaimed creators of “Drive Thru Metal” sang songs such as, “Pair-a-Buns” (“Paranoid”), “Frying Pan” (“Iron Man”), and “Sweet Beef” (“Sweet Leaf”). To say the crowd was entertained would be an understatement. Mac Sabbath’s mixture of classic Black Sabbath, McDonalds characters, and fast food lyrics make them a band every metal fan should see.
