Johnny DG's Forever/Forgotten

Johnny DG is a new artist in the alternative genre based out of Port Jarvis, NY. Their sound is unique with a heavy drum and guitar presence and at times an almost ethereal vocal set. Throughout the album, their songs sounded heavily influenced by The Doors.

“Undertow So Called Friends” was my favorite track. It starts out with a heavy drum and guitar duo. It had great rhythm and the melody is catchy throughout the song. “Sweet Anxiety” is another track that has great guitar riffs opening the song.

The final album track “So Long Ago” opens with a beautiful keyboard solo. It lends a peaceful sound even with the great drums in the back.

Throughout the album, the vocals tend to be overpowered by the instruments, but this can be overlooked easily as the songs have great rhythm and melody and are easy to listen to feel the beat.
