If you didn’t know, JOHN 5 has performed as a guitarist for Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, which is where most people may know him from. He’s played with many more big names than that, however. Doing the solo thing isn’t new to him either. JOHN 5 has something like nine solo albums out now, including this new one.
He’s a talented guitar player and an amazing songwriter.
When it comes to JOHN 5 and The Creatures, John 5 has teamed up with Ian Ross on bass and Logan Miles Nix on drums.
It’s Alive! is a live album, and, interestingly, it’s the first of John 5’s albums to be released on vinyl. It contains 16-songs that will have you checking the tour schedule at www.john-5.com.
The album opens with “Guitars Tits and Monsters,” from his 2017 album Season of the Witch. Shredding like a madman, this is a great song to lead into the rockin’ music that is all over this release.
If darker songs are more your thing, the live album has some great tracks that have that spooky vibe you’d expect from someone that’s played with Mr. Zombie and Mr. Manson. A couple to check out include “Season of the Witch” and “Making Monsters.” The latter has a vintage horror film feel to it.

Fans of John 5 will seriously dig this live album. If you don’t know who John 5 is, but you enjoy some excellent guitar rock or metal, you should give this a listen.
