Recently, the Goo Goo DollsJohn Rzeznik and Robby Takac visited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in Memphis, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The group presented Richard Shadyac, Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Emily Callahan, Chief Marketing Officer, and Jason Thomas Gordon, founder of Music Gives to St. Jude Kids® and grandson of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas with a check for $22,800 from autographed guitars and drumhead sales during the 2016 Boxes tour, which ends on December 10th.

The donation received from Goo Goo Dolls helps ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. “Visiting St. Jude was a real eye opener,” says Rzeznik. “It’s amazing that so much good can be done in one place by so many good people. We are grateful to our amazing fans for their generosity and enabling us to present this money to help St. Jude.”

This summer, the Goo Goo Dolls began supporting Music Gives to St. Jude Kids, a program that mobilizes the music community to join the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The group is looking forward to continuing their relationship with St. Jude.
