Gemini Syndrome kick off opening night of the Brought to Light tour in Louisville with Deadset Society and Gravel Switch.

A gloomy, rainy Tuesday night in the Louisville was not enough to deter a solid group of rockers from seeing Gemini Syndrome rock the house on the first stop of their whirlwind 18 date Brought to Light tour, with support from Deadset Society and Gravel Switch.

Before the band even took the stage, there was a lot of excited discussion at the front of the stage among The Synners (die-hard Gemini Syndrome fans) about the last time they had seen the band and what songs they were hoping to hear tonight. As the house lights dropped, drummer Brian Steele Medina was first on stage, doing his ritualistic crouch on his seat as the rest of the band strolled on stage immediately blasting into “Pleasure and Pain,” followed by “Resurrection,” “Zealot” and “On Point” as the evening starts off fast and heavy.

Front-man Aaron Nordstrom took a few moments to thank everyone for coming out and opening the tour with them and says he has good news and bad news. The bad news is that this will be the last tour in support of their album Memento Mori; the good news is that the next tour will be for their new album, which drew solid cheers from the crowd.

On stage, the band was fun and entertaining. Guitarists Meegs Rascon and rhythm guitarist Max Georgiev were in constant motion as they shred through the songs while drummer Brian Steele Medina put on a show of his own behind his kit. In stark contrast was the very tattooed and talented bassist, Alessandro “AP” Paveri  who, dressed in an all-black hoodie covering most of his face was rather stoic at stage front while laying down some serious bass lines.

The Gemini Syndrome set continued with “Mourning Star”, “Sorry”, “Basement”, “Awaken”, and “Eternity” with a solid and distinctive intensity as Aaron and his long white dreadlocks rip through the songs.

The night ended on a fantastic note with their two hot singles “Anonymous” and “Remember We Die,” and their very popular hit from Lux, “Stardust”, leaving fans thoroughly happy and satisfied.

Providing the main support for the evening was Deadset Society (formerly known as Never Say Die). Based out of Toronto, Canada and featuring guitarist/singer Reid Henry and bassist Brendan McMillan of My Darkest Days, Deadset Society has been on tour since early January in support of their debut album Destroy + Rebuild.

Their 30+minute set featured their hit single ‘Like A Nightmare’ which was featured on SiriusXM’s Big ‘Uns Countdown, peaking at #3 before closing with a rousing rendition of a My Darkest Days song “Pornstar Dancing”.

Opening the evening was Jamestown, Kentucky rockers Gravel Switch. Gravel Switch’s riff-heavy set of solid hard rock, reminiscent of Sevendust or Breaking Benjamin was solid from the word go.

Being from southern Kentucky, very close to the Tennessee state line, Gravel Switch rolled a little country into their set by ending with a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” that transitioned into a full metal rendition mid-way, drawing huge cheers.   Gravel Switch is Seth Wade- Lead vocals. Josh Pierce – guitar/vocals, Cameron Bryant – bass/vocals and Harley Wilson – Drums.
