THE FLAMING LIPS RELEASE NEW SONG AND LYRIC VIDEO – “WE A FAMLY” FEATURING MILEY CYRUS – AVAILABLE TODAY
NEW ALBUM, OCZY MLODY, SET FOR RELEASE JANUARY 13TH
THE FLAMING LIPS release a new song and lyric video – “We A Famly,” today featuring special guest Miley Cyrus on backing vocals. The track appears on the band’s upcoming album OCZY MLODY, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on January 13th.
“We A Famly” is now available as an instant download to fans who pre-order the digital format of the album from iTunes or Amazon or any format from the The Lips’ official website. Click here to watch the lyric video for “We A Famly.” The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne had this say about the song:
“… at first this song was intended to be part of the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz record.. Then we (her and us) lost interest in it… It was, back then, very slow and serious… But after speeding it up (a lot) and adding the galloping “We A Famly” sing-a-long bit we thought it was dorky enough and fun enough to present to the world. And… We (Cyrus and us) really do say to each other, all the time, ‘We A Famly.'”
OCZY MLODY, The Flaming Lips’ 17th studio album, will be released in several configurations: a 12-song CD, a 12-song digital album, a 12-song double-LP vinyl edition pressed on colored vinyl, and as an 11-song single-LP vinyl edition. The vinyl versions include a digital download card of all 12 songs.
Also available exclusively via flaminglips.com, on January 13th, is a 7″ red-vinyl single housed in a lurid and lovely picture sleeve featuring The Lips’ cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” plus a new Lip’s song, “Jest (There Is…).”
