Friday September 4th, 2015, Lexington Kentucky. Five Finger Death Punch has just released their 6th studio album entitled “Got Your Six”, and tonight is opening night of their co-headlining tour with Papa Roach, with special guests In This Moment and From Ashes To New. Fans lined up early at Rupp Arena to get the best possible spot to witness this incredible show. Doors opened at 5 and the show started at 615 with From Ashes To New taking the stage to get the crowd warmed up.
From Ashes To New are described as a rap-rock/alternative metal band and hail from Lancaster, PA. Their current single “Through It All” is currently #9 on Sirius XM’s Big ‘Uns Countdown. Based on the crowds response to their set I expect the single to continue to climb the charts. Their album “Day One” is due out in February 2016, but if you can’t wait until then they do have an EP that is available now entitled “DOWNFALL”. Their setlist for the night consisted of the following:
“Destruction of Myself”
“Downfall”
“Through it All”
“I Will Show You”
“Stay This Way”

Next up were road warriors In This Moment who have been touring non-stop since their latest release “Black Widow”. The album which was released back in November of 2014 has seen a lot of success in the carts peaking at #8 in the Billboard 200. The album has produced the following singles, “Sick Like Me”, “Sex Metal Barbie”, and their latest single “Big Bad Wolf”. Don’t look for any signs of In This Moment slowing down anytime soon, on top of their current tour they will also make an appearance at this year’s Rock Allegiance Festival in Philadelphia. Their set list for the night consisted of the following:
“Sick Like Me”
“Black Widow”
“Ädrenalize”
“Sex Metal Barbie”
“Whore”
“Big Bad Wolf”
“Blood”

At this point in the evening the crowd was thoroughly warmed up and Rupp Arena burst into chants of “Papa Roach”. Jacoby Shaddix and company hit the stage with an energy that only continued to build as both audience and band feed off each other thru out the 18 song set that spanned the bands complete catalog. Papa Roach kicked off the set with the title track of their latest release, “Face Everything and Rise”. Not one person in the arena remained in their seats during the performance which saw Jacoby go out into the crowd during the set, a rare acoustic version of “Scars” performed at the soundboard in the middle of the arena, and Maria Brink of In This Moment joining the band on stage for the song “Gravity”. I have seen Papa Roach many times over the past couple of tours and I have to say that the performance on this night was by far the best and most energetic that I have witnessed. At times it seemed the crowd singing along were just as loud as the music coming from the stage. If you are a longtime fan or have never had the chance to see Papa Roach, this is one tour you don’t want to miss to see them at their best on stage. Their setlist for the night was:
“Face Everything and Rise”
“Between Angels and Insects”
“Getting Away With Murder”
“Warriors”
“Blood Brothers”
“Forever”
“Hollywood Whore”
“Kick In The Teeth”
“Falling Apart”
“Broken As Me”
“Scars” (acoustic)
“Lifeline”
“Gravity”(with Maria Brink)
“Burn”
“Where Did The Angels Go?”
“Still Swinging”
“Last Resort”
“…To Be Loved”

To close out the night was the band everyone had come to see, Five Finger Death Punch. Having just released their 6th studio album “Got Your Six” earlier in the day the band was ready to hit the stage and show the crowd at Rupp Arena what the new album was all about. The fans were greeted with the live premiere of two new tracks from the new album, “Got Your Six”, and “Jekyll and Hyde” were both played live for the first time. The complete setlist for the night was:
“Lift Me Up”
“Hard to See”
“Never Enough”
