Eric George’s Not About Nightingales

Written By: Yvonne Glasgow

For fans of folk rock and Americana, Eric George’s newest album, Not About Nightingales, will become a prized possession in album collections. All ten songs on this album are beautifully written and played. George plays the guitar, banjo, and harmonica on this album, with other players filling in on everything else.

You’ll find energetic music that has a solid folk sound from song one. However, the standout track on this album is definitely “A River For Your Dam.” While George’s music has been compared to that of Hank Williams Sr. and Woody Guthrie, this song often has a sound that is reminiscent of The Beatles.

Aside from clever lyrics and vocals that never seem to fall off key, the guitar will be the one other thing that really stands out as you give this album a listen. Perfect music for a relaxing fall day.
