Eddy Yang recorded his first song, on his own, and although he thinks it sounds a little rough, I really dig it. “Split the Night” has a really catchy beat. While others have compared his music to the early sounds of REM, Springsteen, and even Television, I compare him to no one. I feel like Eddy Yang has a great sound that is fun and energetic and is all his own.
This song makes me smile every time I hear it. “Am I ever going to be myself? Maybe we could be somebody else.” I’m sure you’ve had times when you’ve wanted to do something different, be someone different. Instead of focusing on being someone else maybe you should just have some fun and enjoy life (that’s what I get from the lyrics of this song, anyway).
I am really looking forward to hearing some more music from Eddy in the future, and hope you will enjoy this one song, for now.
