This metal core rock band made their successful start in early February of 2008 and has been taking over the metal scene ever sense. With an outstanding number of albums released for a consecutive 8 years, The Devil Wears Prada is preparing to drop yet another killer album titled “Transit Blues” releasing on October 7th of 2016!
Being able to listen and review this album was not only an honor but also a trigger releasing my 13 year old self to bust out my old band tees and overly smudged eyeliner! I basically grew up in Hot Topic and everywhere I went I saw fellow emo kids walking around with their TDWP merch on (and I still do to this day). It was no surprise to me when I hit play on the first track “Praise Poison”  and was taken over with complete joy and a sense of familiarity. From the very beginning of this track a sudden beat along with intense guitar riffs and some immense ranges of screams and growls took over my earbuds and heavy metal soul. My favorite song on the album, by far, has to be “Worldwide”. It reminds me so much of Bring Me The Horizon’s newest album “That’s The Spirit”, bringing the same melodic sing-songy vibe mixed with the those oh so satisfying raspy screams.Every track on this album has its own unique way of digging deep into your feels and gripping your heart in just the right way. The best part about this album (and this band in general) is that not one song is toned down enough to make you stop feeling anything.
All in all, this album was everything we wanted it to be and everything we ever dreamed of for the guys in The Devil Wears Prada! You can catch their single “Daughter” on Spotify and iTunes and get a sense of the beauty of this album. Also, you can Pre-order the album for only $11 as well as some other cool merchandise and rad bundles ranging from $18 – $80 with cool stuff like a vinyl of the new CD, hoodies, t-shirts, digital downloads, cassette tapes and even more! Keep your eyes and ears out for the release of the golden album of the year!
