On September 23rd, hard rock band Crobot released their newest album, Welcome to Fat City, on Wind-Up Records. The band, who hails from Pottsville, Pennsylvania, consists of Brandon Yeagley on vocals, Chris Bishop on guitar, Jake Figueroa on bass, and Paul Figueroa on drums.

Their new album opens with the title track, which begins with some drums and then a short guitar solo before Yeagley starts to sing. The next song is “Play It Cool,” which is a catchy, upbeat song. It got stuck in my head as soon as I heard it for the first time. “Easy Money” features a harmonica solo, performed by vocalist Brandon Yeagley. There is already a music video for the first single off of the album, “Not For Sale,” which contains a rhythmic drum beat in the bridge, which is sure to translate well when performed live.

“Hold on for Dear Life” has a slower beat, but still just as heavy as the rest of the album. “Temple in the Sky” begins with a sound reminiscent of Southern rock. The repetitiveness in the bridge of this song makes it a great one for fans to sing along to at concerts. A song that people would want to move around to would be “Right Between the Eyes.” “Blood on the Snow,” is another catchy track, and it also opens with another strong guitar solo that is sure to hook listeners in. “Steal the Show” contains a repeated beat and more harmonica parts. Another song with a slower beginning is “Moment of Truth,” which fades to a close with the line “the moment of truth” being repeated. The album finishes with “Plague of the Mammoths,” which ends the album on a heavy note.

Though all of the songs can stand on their own, they truly fit together as a whole album, one that is definitively by Crobot. The album can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, as well as on the band’s official webstore. Crobot is currently on tour with Sevendust and Wilson, and they will soon be touring Europe with Volbeat and the United Kingdom with Airbourne. All of their upcoming tour dates can be found here.
