Crobot Vocalist's Graphic Novel ‘Legend of the Spaceborne Killer’

Still riding the wave of the successful release of their second full-length album, “Welcome To Fat City,” Pennsylvania’s dirty-groove-rock outfit, Crobot, are gearing up to take fans on another awesome journey. Lead vocalist Brandon Yeagley will reimagine characters and stories from his lyrics in an epic supernatural Sci-fi comic adventure, Legend of the Spaceborne Killer. Joining the team is The Kubert School’s Sean Stramara who serves as the project’s lead artist and designer, colorist Brittany Pezzillo and letterer and Joshua Sloniker. The comic will release on Yeagley and Stramara’s newly launched independent publishing company, Pro Hobo Comics.

When asked about the creation process, Brandon shared, “What started as a barroom conversation with comic book artist and Kubert School of Comics teacher Sean Stramara, Legend of the Spaceborne Killer has reared its bearded head into existence. We wanted to give the most avid Beardos a glimpse at the underlying stories of their favorite Crobot tunes for the ultimate fan experience in comic form.  Will we finally find out what he has in his hand?”

Yesterday the team launched a PledgeMusic campaign to fund the graphic novel. There fans can pre-ordering items such as hard or soft cover versions of Issue 1 (with a variant cover by Crobot guitarist Bishop), custom 11 x 17, original page art, and much, much more. About Legend of the Spaceborne Killer:
Legend of the Spaceborne Killer is the tale of a Cosmonaut, who was left-for-dead outside our atmosphere after an experiment goes horribly wrong.   When the Cosmonaut’s esteemed colleague, who just so happens to also be his wife, gets lost in space during a routine repairing mission outside the shuttle, the Cosmonaut decides to put himself on ice, literally.  After being cryogenically frozen for fifteen years, he has awoken to find a message from his wife.  She’s alive!  All signs are pointing him back to Earth, where he eventually returns and meets up with an uncanny team of sidekicks like an Area 51 janitor, a bio-mech Ape, a Shaman, and the son of the Lucifer himself, who help (or hinder) him in his search for his long lost wife.

Watch as the characters and stories from Crobot’s songs take life in this epic supernatural Sci-fi comic adventure, with tongue planted firmly in cheek.  Think Douglas Adams writing for Scooby-Doo, all relative to Yeagley’s universe he has built throughout the Crobot discography.  Each volume of work coincides with each album released and will continue to be released with each album.

About Crobot:
Stirring up down ‘n’ dirty rock ‘n’ roll, swaggering blues, doom-y metal, and strangely sexy funk into a grimy cauldron, the Pennsylvania quartet—Brandon Yeagley [lead vocals, harmonica], Chris Bishop [guitar, vocals], Jake Figueroa [bass], and Paul Figueroa [drums]—make rock music gonzo again by blasting it to outer space. Crobot have shared bills with the likes of the legendary Motörhead, Anthrax, Volbeat, Clutch, The Sword, and more in addition to performing at festivals such as Download, Shiprocked, Motörhead’s MotörBoat, Rock on the Range, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Graspop, and Rocklahoma, to name a few.
