Corrosion of Conformity Live @ The 9:30 Club 12/7/2015

Corrosion of Conformity played Washington D.C.’s famed 9:30 Club on Monday Dec 7th. This is the first time this version of the lineup consisting of Pepper Keenan back out front on vocals has toured since 2006. Prior to the show I had the chance to sit down with drummer Reed Mullin and discuss the current tour and the bands plans for 2016. Reed hinted at the possibility of fans seeing a new album released in 2016 as well as more tour dates. The band recently signed with Nuclear Blast records and are eager to get back in the studio early in the new year. The tour which has been a way for the band to reunite with fans as well as making new ones only has a few dates left before the band takes a break from the road for the holidays.

Kicking things off for the night was Mothership, a heavy rock trio from Dallas, TX. The bands style is ‘70’s classic rock mixed with a modern day sound. The band released their 2nd album “Mothership II” back in 2014 and have been on the road in support of it ever since.

Oakland’s Saviours were next up on the bill, bringing their brand of American stoner metal. The band released their latest album “Palace of Vision” this year and had the crowd headbanging along thru out their set.

Brant Bjork and The Low Deseret Punk Band took the stage as the last support act for the evening, bringing their own style of psychedelic organic brand of rock to get the crowd warmed up for the main act of the night.

Pepper and crew hit the stage at about 11pm ripping into “These Shrouded Temples”, “Broken Man”, and “Senor Limpio” to get the crowd fired up and prepped for the rest of the evening. Playing a fourteen song set of classic C.O.C fan favorites it’s safe to say that if the band was looking to reunite with its fan base it nailed it here in the nation’s capital on this night. Look for our interview with Reed coming soon, as well as for C.O.C to make its full return in 2016 with new material and new tours.

The setlist for the night was:

“These Shrouded Temples… ”

“Broken Man”

“Señor Limpio”

“Heaven’s Not Overflowing”

“Wiseblood”

“Seven Days”
