Day two of the Common Ground Music Festival was one of my favorite nights.  I had been waiting for this night for a long time since one of my favorite bands was playing!

The night started with Red Sun Rising, the band from Arkon, OH who are still riding the waves of their huge success with their two #1 songs, “The Otherside” and “Emotionless” which they performed for the Lansing, MI  crowd.  They tore up the stage, as they do every time i have seen them. Other songs on the set list included “My Muse” and “Amnesia”  They also performed the Alanis Morriesette cover “Uninvited” the forty five minute set ended way too quickly…

Coldville, from West Michigan were up next on the Sparrow stage. The forty five min set in the hot sun was full of energy and emotion.  This band never disappoints.
Bouncing Souls were up next on the Auto Value Main Stage! Bouncing Souls impressively played a twenty two song set. Tirelessly jumping around the stage and even taking a couple fan requests along with their normal set list.
Rise Against, the American melodic hardcore band from Chicago was the headliner tonight. They drew a nice large crowd for a Wednesday night. They started off the set with “Survive” and followed that up with “The Good Left Undone” They played “Astro Zombies,” a Misfits cover and we joined on stage with Greg and Pete of the Bouncing Souls.
They played three acoustic songs followed by a two song encore of “Midnight Hands” and “Prayers of the Refugee”
