Chickenfoot's Best + Live

Super group Chickenfoot returns on March 10 with the release of Chickenfoot Best + Live. The group, made up of vocalist Sammy Hagar of Van Halen, guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony of Van Halen and drummer Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot is a collaboration as hot as the Cabo sun.

The two-part album has disk one consisting of ten “best of” hits, in addition to a new song. The second dick has 11 songs which adds up to over 90 minutes of live performances from Chickenfoot.

The 11 tracks are previously unreleased live versions of hits performed in 2009 in Phoenix, A.Z.

Fan favorite, “Turning Left “ from their self titled “Chickenfoot,” is a whopping ten minutes of perfection testifying to the fact that Chickenfoot is just as great, if not better live than in studio.

Listen carefully for the “Manic Depression” Hendrix reference at the end of this song, it’s ear candy for sure.

“Divine Termination”, the band’s first release in over five years, opens with a rhythm Hagar fans will cue into instantly.

Hagar introduces a smooth vocal to his signature raspy style while Anthony spreads the harmonies directly atop Hagar’s crunchy vocals. Satriani’s guitar screams and weaves through “Divine Termination” with mythical ability.

“Get it Up” is dirty, raw and sexy as hell, which throws in some classic Led Zepplin towards the end.

Added to the mix of treats is a funky, bluesy live version of “Bitten By The Wolf”, which was previously only available in Japan.

Chickenfoot 111,  the group’s tongue-in-cheek second album, debuted at #9 on Billboard’s Top 200 in 2011.

In May of 2016 the band got together in Lake Tahoe for the first time in six years, where they were not only reunited, but unveiled “Divine Termination”.
Red Heads take note: The Red Rocker and his band of musical warlocks are back.
