A packed Merriweather Post Pavilion played host to this years Carnival of Madness Tour featuring Whiskey Myers, Black Stone Cherry, Halestorm, and Shinedown. Texas’s Whiskey Myers got things started with their brand of southern rock. The band who will be releasing their upcoming album “Mud” in September played a short jam-packed five song set. Touring in support of their latest release “Kentucky”, Black Stone Cherry took the stage next kicking their set off with the hit single “Me and Mary Jane”. Their set featured two new songs from the latest release, “Cheaper to Drink Alone” and “Soul Machine” with the highlight of their set being their cover of Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades” to close out their set. Halestorm performed a blistering set in the summer heat performing crowd favorites, “Apocalyptic”, “Freak Like Me”, “Mayhem”, and closing with “I Miss The Misery”. Closing out the evening was Shinedown who have been out touring most of 2016 as well as making appearances at most of the spring festivals. The guys played a sixteen song, hour and a half headlining set that kept the packed house on their feet from start to finish. The nights set kicked off with “Adrenaline” from the band’s 2012 album Amaryllis, and included the Radiohead cover “Creep” as well as the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic “Simple Man”. Shinedown will also hit the road this fall on a co-headline tour with Five Finger Death Punch, those tour dates can be found below.
