Bush At The Fillmore Silver Spring 12-30-2016

The iconic ’90s rock band Bush played The Fillmore Silver Spring on Friday night. With rumors of a new album possibly coming in 2017 and a world tour to follow the band has toured the better part of 2016 with Spring, Summer, and Fall tours. The current string of winter dates will wrap on January 1st at the Hard Rock Live in Northfield, OH. 2017 will see the band playing Northern Invasion and Rock on The Range as part of the World’s Loudest Month, I would look for a spring tour to be announced to coincide with the festival dates.

Bush took the stage at 9pm kicking off their eighteen song set with “Everything Zen” from their 1994 6x multi-platinum debut album, Sixteen Stone. The near capacity crowd was treated to an amazing night of music, as Gavin and company played hit after hit. The sound, light show, and energy felt like an arena show crammed into the 2000 capacity Fillmore. Fans were not disappointed  with the setlist which consisted of the hits, “The Chemicals Between Us”, “Greedy Fly”, “Swallowed”, “Little Things”, “Machinehead”, “Glycerine”, and closed out with “Comedown”. Also included in the setlist for the night was the new song “Monkey” which will be on the band’s upcoming 2017 release. Highlights of the night were Gavin Rossdale going into the crowd and balcony as the band played “Little Things” before coming back out for a four song encore. During the encore the band played an amazing version of the classic REM cover “The One I Love”, followed by Gavin taking the stage with just his guitar for “Glycerin”.

Bush has been wowing crowds for over 20 years and Friday nights performance proved that there are no signs of them letting up anytime soon. The nights performance proved that Gavin and company still have what it takes to pack shows and left fans looking forward to whats to come in 2017.
