Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2017

It was a beautiful weekend as Devault Vineyards hosted the first Blue Ridge Rock Festival. The festival featured over 30 bands spread across two stages, with a pre-show party hosted on Friday night and an after party hosted Saturday after the main festival had ended.

Friday’s pre-party was headlined by P.O.D. and also included Alien Ant Farm, Powerflo, Fire From The Gods, Boughtxblood, and Vegan Llamas.

Saturday saw bands like Texas Hippie Coalition, Saliva, Sick Puppies, Moonshine Bandits, Everlast, Ill Nino, Drowning Pool, Twiztid, and Scott Stapp take to the stages.

Many fans were left disappointed when Dope refused to play due to production issues with the stage. Edsel took to the bands Facebook page on Sunday and issued the following statement on the canceled performance.

“Hey guys.. I want to apologize to anyone that came to see us at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival on Saturday… I flew from LA to Philly and met up with the band and crew and then drove 6 hours to Lynchburg. We were there. we were ready…. Unfortunately, For production and technical reasons beyond our control, we were not able to perform yesterday. It was great to see a lot of our old friends, but it definitely sucked to not be able to perform. We hope to see you on our fall tour with HED PE. Tour dates are available at www.Enterthevault.com. Anyone that specifically went to Lynchburg to see DOPE, feel free to DM me and I’ll see what I can do to make it up to you. Cheers!” -Edsel Dope

The days events wrapped up with an after party which featured Hateful Bones, Tantric, and Orgy. With Hateful Bones playing well past their allotted time, headliners Tantric and Orgy had to cut their sets short with Orgy’s set being shutdown after just two songs. This wasn’t how the fans or Orgy had hoped the days events would come to an end.

Although there may have been a few hiccups and unexpected events I would say that for the first year the Blue Ridge Rock Festival was a success.
