Touring in support of their latest release “Holding All The Roses” Blackberry Smoke played a sold out show at The National in Richmond, VA on March 11th. The crowd was more than filled with anticipation as the guys took to the stage; it had been almost a year since Blackberry Smoke has made a stop in the state’s Capital. The band has seen plenty of success since the release of “Holding All The Roses”, having seen the album reach the number 1 spot on the US Top Country Albums and number 7 on the US Top Rock Albums. Fans were treated to a special treat on this night with the guys including covers of Led Zeppelin’s “Your Time Is Going To Come”, Travis Tritt’s “The Whiskey Ain’t Working”, and Black Sabbath’s “Fairies Wear Boots”. Blackberry Smoke is a band that you must see live to truly hear their music in its purest form. A twenty-two song setlist that lasted a little over two hours gave the fans everything they had come for and kept them singing along with every song, sometimes even surprising the band at how loud they were. Given the band’s dedication and incredible live show its no surprise to see them go from playing small pool halls only a few years ago to playing larger venues and festivals.
