.bipolar.'s EP Seven

Metal veterans, .bipolar. Hailing from Las Vegas started their musical journey in Northern California in 2003.  By 2004 they received Best Metal band by the Sacramento News & Review.  However, Charlie Hanks (vocals)  and Brian Hanks (drums) would find their way back home to Las Vegas years later in 2008, finding the two guitarist that would finally make up the official band today with Jason Hinds (guitar) ,Kevin Lemus (guitar) and Chris Kmit (bass) would finish up current line up.

SEVEN .bipolar.’s latest EP was released January, 28, 2017 which was recorded at Hideout Studios in Las Vegas and self- produced.   The album’s first track, “Ernest” which is the band’s latest single, starts the album off with a Groove Rock performance, with a touch of Rap Rock until it turns into Charlie’s famous growls and screams, where one finds themselves in the land of Heavy Metal heaven.  The percussion section finds itself doing double time while the guitars lead the way for head-bangers to let themselves go. Charlie does show off her vocal chops with some melodic and strong singing during the song that adds well with the Metal and Groove based song.

The second song on the album is an in your face Metal song with an edge of Punk that can be heard.
“Pyrite” provides some strong guitar riffs and rhythm sections by Lemus and Hinds, while Hank and Kmit provide a strong a double time percussion section undertone that enhances the whole song. Charlie’s screams and vocals again add to the powerful storytelling and message lyrically and musically.

“Habitual”  is another song that will get the attention of fans and listeners alike with Metal that has a bit of groove to it making it a catchy song.  The verses allow for fans of heavier music to rock out with the traditional loaded sounds of guitar, bass and drums.  When the chorus comes in Charlie can be found singing and there is a groove vibe to the song allowing for those whole like a more Nu-Metal feel to find their niche. This is sure to be a fan favorite as it allows a little something for everyone, not to mention show cases all sides of the bands talents and vocal abilities.

The last song on the album “Overnighter” is the heaviest song on the album. Charlie is in “I have something to say and you’re going to listen” mode with her screams.  One cannot help but think that her vocals can be tied to a bit of Rock Rap as she tells her story. The band starts off the song with guitar solo over a steady drum beat but turns heavy making it a powerful percussion section mixed with steady Metal guitars. This was a great song to end the album to.

.bipolar. are not new to the Metal scene and it is showcased with SEVEN.  Although, the band has done numerous other albums and EP’s this one seems to show off another side to the band musically.  SEVEN is defiantly an EP all Metal Heads or Rock fans should own and .bipolar. is a band everyone should know.
