Avatar has taken a interesting turn in to world of dark fairy tales, with their new album “Feathers & Flesh”. Telling the fable of an Owl on a journey to stop the sun from rising, the album is set in sequence to the trials and tribulations that the main protagonist has throughout this entire experience. Coordinated with some powerful riffs and melodic voice of Johannes, this fairy tale is not one to put you to rest, but to keep you awake at night wondering how this story will end. Going with the flow of the concept album, there seems to be a more deeper meaning that goes along with this tale, that sometimes the lesson being taught isn’t the one you wanted to learn. Avatar, dives in to our inner psyche to teach a lesson, and seeing that there is a story to be told I feel this album can bridge a gap between the younger generation of metal, to respect and rock on with old school metal heads. What is so interesting about this album is that it also has a story book that can be read alongside the album, how cool can it be that metal moms and dads can bring some good old power metal to fill their children’s imagination and welcome them into the intoxicating world of double bass drumming and powerful guitar solos, introduce them to the world of heavy metal.

The album will be released on May 13th, and pre-order bundles can be purchased here: avatarmetal.com
