As the lights dimmed in Rams Head a roar erupted from the crowd, and you could feel everyone’s heart beat as one in anticipation of Asking Alexandria. With an almost deafening explosion of approval the crowd ignited as Asking Alexandria took the stage coming to a culmination and exploding with a virtuosity that can only be described as ravenous. With Asking Alexandria standing before the fans our eyes, minds and our souls were given a gift a dream as the original line-up of Asking Alexandria stood before us. The 10 Years In The Black was alive and we all were on board for one hell of a ride.

Asking Alexandria now 16 days into The 10 Years In The Black tour were flawless and what made these shows even more special was that the original line-up consisting of Danny Worsnop, Ben Bruce, Cameron Liddell, James Cassells, and Sam Bettley were standing before us and playing tracks from their album’s Stand Up and Scream, Reckless & Relentless, From Death to Destiny, spanning an incredible 10 years.

Danny Worshop, vocalist took a brief moment to remind all of us that he was back, and the fans erupted with a jubilant and rousing approval of his return followed by the chants “Danny…Danny”. Like a true artist Danny humbly thanked us all and reminded us that Asking Alexandria was alive; and well and just getting started.

As Danny introduced the songs, we the fans needed no introductions, we all sang right along word for word with him and on tracks like “Not The American Average” the fans sang the lyrics as if they had been implanted deep within our souls. The beginning of “The Final Episode” being sung by the fans was so loud that all 5 members of Asking Alexandria shared the same surprise look on their faces as they looked back at all of us from the stage.

The highlight for me was of course seeing the original line-up, but also I was amazed at how well Danny’s vocals sounded and how completely seamless he made the evening seem. It was as if Danny had never left. It was the song “Moving On’ though that hooked me and sold me on the idea that at this given moment there was no better place to be. For me to be part of something so grandiose was awe-inspiring hearing the fans and myself included just giving back to the band and losing ourselves to the music is was an amazing feeling..

Asking Alexandria has had an amazing career from their arrival on the Metalcore scene back in 2006 to 2016 (and present), and while there have been some bumps along the way they have always remained humbled and focused on what’s most important the fans, and creating music that can endure while being remembered for a powerhouse live band that they are giving all of themselves to the music and their fans.

This is Asking Alexandria first headlining North American tour in 2 years. It’s also a celebration of a 10 year journey that they have shared with Sumerian Records and bringing with them they have assembled a great supporting cast in Born Of Osiris, I See Stars, After The Burial, Upon A Burning Body and Bad Omens. The 10 Years in the Black Tour opening date was in Seattle, and much like November 16th in Rams Head there have been no disappointments yet other then maybe when will they be back in our town.

There have been few moments that have ever left me complete speechless and November 16th Rams Head Live Baltimore MD the 10 Years In Black Tour with Asking Alexandria was truly one of those moments and one that I will soon never forget…..
