The famed House of Blues in the heart of Chicago was the place to be on Friday night as Asking Alexandria blew their way through town with their “British Invasion Tour” and having Bullet For My Valentine as the headliners. With winds gusting at 65mph outside, the House of Blues was packed wall to wall on the inside with fans waiting for AA to appear on stage.
As She Sleeps kick started the evening with a blistering performance that had the place swaying before the guys from Yorkshire, England stepped on stage.
Out of the darkness James Cassello on drums made his way to his drum kit and with his sticks held high in the air he hit the first note for “I Won’t Give In”. As the lights came on, new AA lead singer Denis Stoff held the mic and the anticipation of the audience grew to a frenzy. The House of Blues floor was packed with sweaty bodies and shaking as AA jammed out to “The Death of Me” as well as their most recent hit “The Black” and they guys finished off the killer 8 song set with “Final Episode”.
This was the first time for me seeing AA and I loved their entire set and stage presence. I love seeing bands who generally enjoy themselves on stage and interact with the crowd and AA certainly does that! Here is the AA setlist from the evening.
