Alex Siegel's Röykkä

Alex Siegel, a folk pop artist from California, has a new album out that will quickly become your favorite if you are a fan of Simon and Garfunkle. Not only does he have a Paul Simon-like sound, especially on “Easy,” the rest of this album titled Röykkä is a beautiful sounding masterpiece full of relaxing and delightful music.

Röykkä is a village located in Finland, somewhere. The album was recorded in Finland during an Autumn. It is described in the bio as being “equal parts laid-back, sunny California and colorful, cool Scandinavia.”

Songs like “Run Home” are reminiscent of music from other talents like Nick Drake and Kings of Convenience. All nine of the album’s songs are divinely inspired it seems simply by listening to them. They will take you into your mind and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.

“Good Leg” is the standout song on the album. Siegel’s vocals are especially tantalizing on this one. The lyrics are interesting as well.”I was dreaming of tomorrow.” It has a smooth bluesy musical beat to it as well, which is mesmerizing.
