THE AGONIST Release Video For “The Raven Eyes”

As THE AGONIST get ready to hit the road, the band has released a video for their song “The Raven Eyes”. The song is taken from their Napalm Records debut Five, which was released late last year. (Order yours HERE)

Guitarist Danny Marino speaks about the song and video, “Writing this was a departure for Vicky and I but it may have been one of the most rewarding as songwriters. It allowed us to explore sounds and emotions we’ve always wanted to but could never quite get to in a metal setting. Also, working with Igor Khoroshev (Yes) really helped bring out the full depth of Vicky’s piano and string arrangements. The lyrics were originally inspired by stories of the renaissance plague doctors. FTB Visuals was able to take these themes and create a modern world storyline with an equally dark overtone that captured the painful emotions in the song.”
The band is currently preparing for theirfirst ever headline Canadian tour. The tour starts August 4th in Montreal, QC and runs through August 29th in Regina, SK. A complete list of dates can be found below:

More on THE AGONIST and Five
THE AGONIST is a Canadian extreme metal band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2004. The current line up consists of guitarists Danny Marino and Pascal (Paco) Jobin, bassist Chris Kells, drummer Simon Mckay, and vocalist Vicky Psarakis, who joined in March 2014 following the departure of vocalist and founding member Alissa White-Gluz. Both Psarakis and White-Gluz use growled and clean vocals. To date, THE AGONIST has released four studio albums; the latest, “Eye of Providence”, was released in February 2015. Touring extensively since their first album, they have shared the stage with bands such as Arsonists Get All the Girls, Epica, the Faceless, Chelsea Grin, Kamelot and Visions of Atlantis.
Five was produced by Mike Plotnikoff at West Valley Studios. Mike has engineered and produced such artists as Buckcherry, Flyleaf, My Chemical Romance, Apocalyptica, P.O.D, Halestorm, Skillet, Seether, P.O.D. Three Days Grace, Aerosmith, and Kiss
Maor Appelbaum handled the mastering at Maor Appelbaum Mastering studios. Maor has had the pleasure of mastering recordings for major international acts such as: Faith No More, Yes, Starset, Ill Nino, Dokken, Fates Warning, Sepultura, Yngwie Malmsteen, Armored Saint, Lita Ford, Butcher Babies, and more.
