98 Rockfest Returns To Amalie Arena

Written By: Brandon Delano

Soundgarden kicked off their spring tour by headlining this year’s 98 Rockfest held at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL.

The festival featured nine bands spread across two stages. The free outdoor stage played host to Loose Talk, Dinosaur Pile-Up, and was headlined by Starset. While the indoor stage hosted Beartooth, Nothing More, Highly Suspect, Pierce The Veil, A Day To Remember, and Soundgarden.

While Soundgarden may have been the headliner for the evening, it was Florida’s own A Day To Remember who stole the show. With it pretty much being a hometown show for ADTR, they had the crowd on their feet and crowd surfing through most of their set, even encouraging the crowd to ‘surf’ a crowd surfer.

Soundgarden put on a greatest hits show performing “Spoonman,” “Outshined,” “Black Hole Sun,” “Jesus Christ Pose,” and “Rusty Cage”. Soundgarden will also be participating in this years World’s Loudest Month Festivals as well.

At the end of the night, one thing can be sure, fans can’t wait until 98 Rockfest returns in 2018.
